5 Ways to Add New Leads in Dubsado

Being that Dubsado* is a client management system, you’re going to need to add your clients (and leads) to your account. Did you know that there are 5 (now 6!) ways to add new leads to Dubsado?

Dubsado* is flexible tool. It gives you options, so you don’t have to conform your needs to the software. On the other hand, many other CRM tools don’t have multiple options for adding leads.

Let’s break down the 6 ways you can add leads to Dubsado:

  • 5 of the ways are automated, 1 way is manual

  • 5 are directly trough Dubsado, 1 way is through a third party tool

Watch the video tutorial below to learn how to add leads to your Dubsado account:

1. Lead Captures

A lead capture is what Dubsado* calls a contact form. You can put lead captures on your website or share the link to your lead capture on social media, via text, etc.

These can be created in your account by going to Templates // Forms // Lead Captures.

By default, anytime a lead capture is filled out, a new project is going to appear in your Projects tab.

If the client’s details are new to your account, Dubsado will add them to your address book and create a new project. If their details are already in your account, Dubsado will just create a new project.

Because lead captures create new projects, you only want these to be filled out once per project AND at the very beginning (because the lead capture creates the project).

2. Public Proposals

Proposals are essentially your formal offers, whether you provide one or multiple offerings per proposal. Dubsado gives you the option to add a contract and / or an invoice to any proposal.

The only difference between a proposal and public proposal is that public proposals create new projects in Dubsado, just like lead captures. And just like lead captures, you can put public proposals on your website or share their links on social media, via text, etc.

These can be created in your account by going to Templates // Forms // Proposals // Settings // and select “yes” under “Create a new project when this proposal is completed?”

Because public proposals create new projects, you only want these to be filled out once per project AND at the very beginning (because the lead capture creates the project).

3. Schedulers with Lead Captures

Schedulers are Dubsado’s* self-scheduling tool. They allow clients to book their own appointments based on your availability.

In order to add new leads in Dubsado upon an appointment being scheduled, all you have to do is put a Dubsado scheduler on your website. However, that will add leads to your address book only (meaning you won’t find these leads in the Projects tab). 99% of the time, you’re not going to want that.

To create a new project (and add leads to your address book), you can add a lead capture to the scheduler.

Follow the instructions above to create a lead capture, then go to Templates // Scheduler // choose a scheduler // then add the lead capture in the scheduler’s Advanced Settings, under “Additional Form.”

Because schedulers with lead captures create new projects, you only want these to be filled out once per project AND at the very beginning (because the lead capture creates the project).

4. Schedulers with Public Proposals

This is just like using a scheduler with a lead capture, except you’ll use a public proposal.

Follow the instructions above to create a public proposal, then go to Templates // Scheduler // choose a scheduler // then add the public proposal in the scheduler’s Advanced Settings, under “Additional Form.”

Because schedulers with public proposals create new projects, you only want these to be filled out once per project AND at the very beginning (because the public proposal creates the project).

5. Manually

The 4 ways above are options for having clients add themselves automatically to your Dubsado* account.

However, you can always add new leads to Dubsado manually. You’ll do this by going into the Projects tab and selecting “Create New Project” on the far right.

6. Using Zapier

Bonus! The team at Dubsado* has now created a sixth way to add leads in Dubsado. You can do that using a third party app called Zapier.

Zapier is an app that allows you to “integrate” one app to another.

This means you could collect leads through other tools like Wufoo Forms, Acuity, Calendly, etc. and add those leads to Dubsado via Zapier.

More on the Zapier integration here.

And now you know the 5 (now 6!) ways you can add new leads in Dubsado!*
